As the founder and CEO, I have advanced heart disease. My only real treatment is meds, movement, diet, forever. There's no sci-fi procedure to make it all go away (yet), just the daily work for the rest of my life. And the daily work isn't just boring. Fasting is hard. Building an exercise habit is hard. Eating well when you're tired and want comfort food is hard. The treatment isn't the prescription; the treatment is doing the prescription, every day, when nothing about it feels like a reward.
I'm also a lifelong gamer and have spent my whole career as a game developer. Games are good at one thing in particular: getting you to come back tomorrow and do something difficult on purpose, and call it fun. There's a name for using that craft outside of games. Gamification. The cheap version of it is exactly what most wellness apps already do. Streak counters I stop caring about by week two. Dashboards I never open. Chores with a progress bar. One more subscription I don't really want to pay for. The real version is something the game industry has spent fifty years figuring out: loops worth coming back to, progression that means something, motivation that doesn't run on guilt.
So I started building the wellness apps I actually want to use. Ones that use real game design to make the hard parts of staying healthy easier to keep doing. That is Ensonova. Less tracker, more play.
I have extra motivation to live healthy, but that's only part of it. I'm building this for my family, and for you.
If you're reading this, the stakes probably aren't life or death yet. That's exactly the point. You can build the habits that keep it that way now, while you're healthy, instead of waiting for the day it isn't a choice anymore. The day someone in a white coat sits you down, says the word you were hoping not to hear, and hands you the same boring prescription I got. The information was never the hard part. We all know to move more, eat better, sleep, and breathe. The hard part is doing it again tomorrow, and the day after, and the year after that. That only happens when you're motivated enough, or, hopefully, when we make it fun enough that you want to come back to.
So that's the whole mission. Take the habits that keep you healthy and make them feel like a game worth playing, so you actually stay with them.
For your health, and subsequently a long and wonderful life, come play.
