Dungeons & Heartbeats Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Dungeons & Heartbeats mobile application ("the App") handles your information. The App is developed, published, and operated by Ensonova LLC ("Ensonova", "we", "us", "our"). By using the App you agree to this policy.

The short version. Your heart rate and health data are read from Apple Health, used on your device to run the game, and never sent to us. The current version of the App collects nothing at all: no analytics, no account, no network requests. If we ever add analytics, it will never include your health data, and we will say so here first.

1. Who we are

Ensonova LLC is the developer and publisher of Dungeons & Heartbeats and the party responsible for this policy. If you have any question about privacy in the App, write to support@ensonova.com.

2. The health data the App reads

With your permission, the App reads the following from Apple Health. Each one has a job inside the game, and all of it is processed on your device.

Heart rate

Streams live from the Apple Watch app and drives the game in real time.

Resting heart rate

Used with your other details to compute personalized targets from your heart rate reserve.

Active energy

Shown in your session summaries, taken from your Apple Watch samples when they are available.

Steps

Shown in your session summaries.

Body mass, height, biological sex, date of birth

Used to estimate calories and to set accurate targets during setup, so you do not have to type them in.

Your health data stays on your device. It is never transmitted to us, never included in analytics, and never shared with any third party. Consistent with Apple's HealthKit rules, health data is never used for advertising or marketing and is never shared with data brokers.

3. The data the App writes back

When you allow it, the App saves your completed sessions to Apple Health as workouts, including duration, heart rate, and active energy, so your runs count toward your normal activity. You can turn this off in your Health permissions at any time.

4. What the App collects today

This version of the App contains no analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash reporting software of any kind, and it makes no network requests. There is no usage data, no device identifier, and no crash report flowing to us or to anyone else. In the language of Apple's privacy labels, this is Data Not Collected.

That also means we cannot see how you use the App. If something is broken, the only way we learn about it is if you write to us.

If that changes. We may add basic, anonymous usage analytics in a future version so we can see which parts of the game are working and fix what is not. If we do, we will update this page and the App Store privacy label before that version ships, and your health data, heart rate, and workout contents will stay out of it either way.

5. Purchases

The App offers a one time purchase that unlocks the full set of trials. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card number or billing details, and no record of your purchase is sent to us. Your entitlement is stored on your device and restored through Apple.

6. Your profile portrait

You can set a profile portrait in Your Kingdom using your camera or photo library. That image is stored on your device only. It is never uploaded, and it leaves your phone only if you share it yourself.

7. What we do not do

No account. You never create one, and you never give us your name or email to play.
No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
No advertising or attribution SDKs, and no analytics in the current version.
No selling or renting of your data, and no sharing with data brokers.
No health data leaving your device, ever.
No leaderboards harvesting your activity.

8. Your control and permissions

You grant Apple Health access during setup, and you stay in charge of it. You can review or revoke any of it at any time in the Health app under Sharing, or in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Health, then Dungeons & Heartbeats. Camera and photo permissions are only requested if you choose to set a portrait, and can be revoked the same way.

9. Children

Dungeons & Heartbeats is rated 9+ on the App Store. The App has no account system and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. A parent or guardian should decide whether heart rate based exercise is appropriate for a young person, and supervise its use.

10. This website

Separate from the App, this marketing website at ensonova.com uses Mixpanel for basic web analytics, such as which pages are viewed and which links are clicked. That is about visits to the website and never touches your health information.

11. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
